The vision of the founders of the Association of Run Jordan in the establishment of an association of non-governmental high-performance and durable movement to organize sports racing for all.

The roots Run Jordan to Amman International Marathon, which was founded in 2009 to organize the first marathon in the capital Amman. Amman International Marathon was founded by the Greater Amman Municipality and the Association of the brain and nerves (a non-profit organization that has a long history in organizing marathons in the UK, most notably Oltramarathon the Dead Sea and the Red Sea half marathon).

I have in mind here the supportive role played by the Beirut Marathon Association to establish the first marathon in the city of Amman in 2009. Having been four years in the organization of this marathon in the Jordanian capital, considered the founders of the Amman International Marathon, it is necessary to take a step to restructure the Amman International Marathon to become in the new version.

We must turn our words of thanks and gratitude to our partners in the Run Jordan illusion Greater Amman Municipality, the Tourism Board, the Jordan Olympic Committee, and the Committee Paralympic Jordan, and the Jordanian Association of Athletics Federations, the security services and public safety all, the International Association of Athletics Federations, the global body for racing long distances and many partners and sponsors from the private sector, which we all respect her appreciation.

Races

Amman Marathon

The Amman Marathon, now in its Eighth year, is a sporting event open to all local and overseas participants over the age of ٍsix. The Amman Marathon in 2016 is scheduled for October 28 ,2016 and will consist of three races — the 42.195 km marathon and half marathon 21 km & the 10 km race. A shorter race for children will be organized on October 21, 2016, one week before the official event on the grounds of the King Hussein Park.

Red Sea Half Marathon

The Red Sea Half Marathon is in its tenth year and is held annually in the heart of the coastal city of Aqaba. The event this year will be held on December 9, 2016 and will consist of three different races: a half marathon (21 km), which is the main event, a 10 km race and the 4.2 km run for more junior runners.

Dead Sea Ultra Marathon

The Dead Sea Ultra Marathon celebrated its 22th anniversary in April, 2015 attracting over 7,000 runners and representing 52 nationalities. The Dead Sea Ultra Marathon will consist of three races: the 50 km ultra-marathon (main event), a 21 km half marathon and a 10 km race. The enduring appeal of this running event stems primarily from the geography of its unique route – starting in Amman and spiraling down to the lowest point on earth on the shores of the Dead Sea in the Jordan Valley.
