Die 2.“Nacht im Grünauer Forst“ in Berlin 2012 – Unser Schirmherr Wesley Korir sagt danke!

Es ist nicht ausgeschlossen, dass auch die 3. Ausgabe unseres Laufs im Mai 2013 wieder unter dem gleichen Motto stehen wird. Mittlerweile sind die Spenden zur Foundation überwiesen, und vom Initiator Wesley Korir liegt uns ein erstes Statement zu unserer Aktion vor, das wie Ihnen gerne weitergeben und weder übersetzen noch kommentieren müssen:

"Sorry for taking too long to write back to you I have been traveling and doing a lot of media engagements since Boston. I am so happy to hear that the race was successful and you were able to raise that much money for the kenyankidsfoundation. Thanks for thinking about the kids in Kenya and the money raised will help a lot of kids get education, health care and will anable parents who would otherwise not be able to feed their children be able to put food on the table for their family."

Thanks again for your generosity and hope we will continue working together to fight poverty in Africa through running. I believe the war against poverty in the third world countries will only be won through empowerment education, and providing affordable healthcare to the poor, for I believe that Education is liberation, a healthy nation equals and working nation and also giving a man a fish is just feeding them for a day but showing a man how to fish you will be feeding them for a lifetime and this is what we are trying to achieve through the foundation and your help will help us get closer to our goal.

Jonas Engler knackt den Streckenrekord

Die 2. Nacht im Grünauer Forst sind schon wieder Geschichte. Vielen Dank an alle, die den Weg nach Karolinenhof gefunden hatten. Wir hoffen es hat Ihnen gefallen.

Die Höhepunkte waren eine Teilnehmerzahl im Schülerlauf über die "Grünauer Meile", die unsere kühnsten Erwartungen übertroffen hat, und ein neuer Streckenrekord von Jonas Engler vom OSC Berlin in 32:19 über die 10 km.

Dass allerdings die kleinen Meilenläufer fast das Niveau des legendären Roger Bannister erreichten, lag allerdings an der Tatsache, dass die Spitze und dann auch die nachfolgenden Läufer etwas kürzer liefen.
