Rom 2024 – Tagesrückblick Tag 1: Dramatischer Eröffnungstag: Italiener holen goldenes Double bei Rom 2024
Am Eröffnungstag der Leichtathletik-Europameisterschaften von Rom 2024 feierte die Gastgebernation ein goldenes Doppel. Olympiasiegerin Antonella Palmisano gewann den 20-km-Lauf der Frauen, die Eröffnungsveranstaltung von Roma 2024, und Nadia Battocletti beendete den glanzvollen Tag für ihr Land mit dem Sieg in einem spannenden 5000-m-Finale der Frauen.Es war ein Tag der Premieren im Stadio Olimpico: Krisjan Ceh gewann als erster slowenischer Mann überhaupt eine Goldmedaille im Diskuswerfen der Männer, und die irische 4x400m-Mixed-Staffel war die einzige irische Goldmedaillengewinnerin in der 90-jährigen Geschichte der Leichtathletik-Europameisterschaften, abgesehen von der großen Langstrecklerin Sonia O’Sullivan, die die dreifachen Goldambitionen von Femke Bol zunichte machte. Auch bei den Kugelstoßerinnen gab es einen niederländischen Doppelsieg. |
