Less than 100 days to go to the first World Athletics Road Running Championships Riga 23!
The first World Athletics Road Running Championships will be held in Riga, Latvia on October 1, bringing together the best road runners from around the globe over the distances of one mile, 5km and half-marathon to battle for the world titles.
At the same time, recreational runners from all over the world will have the opportunity to test themselves on the same courses on the same day, to create a unique global running festival. Come and join the fun in beautiful Riga!

Ilona Marhele, Olympian, coach and one of the leading Latvian long distance runners has prepared 12-week 21km training plans so that everyone can prepare themselves for October 1. Training plans have been prepared for two intensity levels – easy and advanced – depending on the runner’s physical abilities.

RUN THE 21KM RELAY AND SHARE THE FUN WITH A FRIEND
In addition to the existing distances – 21 km, 5 km, and the mile – we’re introducing a new distance, the half-marathon relay (10.2 km + 10.9 km), which allows two friends, colleagues, family members, or acquaintances to complete the full half-marathon distance by each running half of it (10.2 km + 10.9 km).
