Zurich Marathon 2017/Switzerland rewards fast runners

On Sunday, 09 April 2017, the Zurich Marathon will take place for the 15th time. With its flat, fast track, it draws many ambitious runners to Zurich and enables about 70% of the participants to achieve a new personal best time.

The organiser is keen to spur on these ambitious runners this year and has developed an innovative bonus system:

Whoever passes the finish line under a certain time will receive a financial bonus.

The bonus key looks as follows:

Women:
Under 3h         CHF   50.-
Under 2:50 h   CHF 100.-
Under 2:40 h   CHF 500.-

Men:
Under 2:40 h   CHF   50.-
Under 2:30 h   CHF 100.-
Under 2:20 h   CHF 500.-

In addition to the bonus, the starting fees will be refunded.

The offer is only valid for runners who register regularly via Datasport. The payment will be made after successfully crossing the finish line. "Anyone can talk big, we want to see action!", says OK President Bruno Lafranchi, with a wink in his eye.

The action is the result of different inquiries over the past few years, Lafranchi explains: "We have received more and more inquiries from runners asking for an entry fee reduction because of their performance. This action is intended to spur on all those people to run their promised time in Zurich."

Please note that time bonuses are not cumulative. Furthermore, runner's own food expenses cannot be added. As always, various sports nutrition and water bottles with sports caps will be made available for the runners at the refreshment points. All runners who would like to run the race in under 3h for women and under 2:40 h for men can start in the first block.

Registration for the marathon is possible online until 02 April 2017 via www.zuerichmarathon.ch or directly at www.datasport.com.
