NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Women's Running Magazine Women's Half Marathon & 5K-Nashville was awarded with the Nashville Convention & Visitors Bureau 2010 Brand Champion Award. The award recognizes the Women's Half Marathon's success in branding the event with a Nashville-specific look and feel.

Nashville's Brand Champion program recognizes conventions, meetings or events which successfully integrated the Music City brand into their marketing and promotional efforts. The Women's Half Marathon – Nashville incorporated the Music City brand into their event logo, materials, participant medals, apparel, goodie bags, and the event's comprehensive advertising and promotional campaign.

"We are thrilled to receive this award and we are proud to have a successful race in such an amazing city," said Dawna Stone, president of Women's Running magazine and founder of the Women's Half Marathon Series. "Nashville has so much to offer our race participants and we wanted to embrace Nashville in our branding. The 2011 Women's Running Magazine Women's Half Marathon & 5K-Nashville will be held in downtown Nashville on Saturday, September 24, 2011.

About The Women's Running Magazine Women's Half Marathon Series
The Women's Running Magazine Women's Half Marathon Series is the nation's largest women's half marathon series. Three 2011 events in Nashville, Tenn. (Saturday, Sept. 24), Scottsdale/Tempe, Ariz. (Sunday, Nov. 6), and St. Petersburg, Fla. (Sunday, Nov. 20) are expected to host more than 20,000 total runners. The WHM Series awards all half marathon finishers an industry first, patent-pending two-in-one medal and charm.

Finishers also receive a designer goodie bag and tech tee. All events in the series begin with a two-day women- specific health and fitness expo and finish with an outdoor party complete with food, music and white linen tablecloths. Each event also includes a 5K run.
