RUNNING USA – Best of Active.com Awards to Recognize Nation\’s Best Running, Cycling, Triathlon Events – Winners determined by on-line popular vote; 10 endurance categories

SAN DIEGO – (January 24, 2011) – Active.com®, a media property of Active Network, and the leading on-line community that connects people with the sports and activities they love to do, has announced the launch of the Best of Active.com Awards designed to celebrate and recognize the most popular endurance events in Active.com's directory of events and activities.

Winners will be determined by popular vote and anyone can vote for his or her favorite running, triathlon and cycling events across 10 categories including Best Marathon, Best Sprint Triathlon, Best Mountain Bike Race and many more.

The Best of Active.com Awards voting period is currently open and will run through December 2011. To vote, individuals only need to search for their favorite events listed in the Active.com directory and click the Facebook "Like" button on the event detail page. Active.com has also created a special voting badge that event organizers can place on their website, personal blog or newsletter to collect additional votes. Anyone can vote for an unlimited number of events that fall within the 10 categories and throughout the competition, the events with the most votes will be featured on Active.com, which attracts millions of active individuals each month. Winners of the 2011 awards will be announced to the public seasonally and annually on Active.com.
