RUNNING GERMANY: BERLIN – Final tips for the AVON Women’s Run Berlin on May 21, 2016

Once again, over 17,000 women runners are expected along the event mile between the Brandenburg Gate and the avenue Grosse Querallee at Germany’s largest women’s running event.

The AVON Women’s Run Berlin is also the largest charity run in Germany, which supports women with breast cancer. For years, one Euro from every participation fee is donated to the Berlin Cancer Society, and the title sponsor, AVON, then brings that amount up to 25,000€.

The funds collected support women with cancer and their families. It gets started at 2 pm with 10 km Power Walking. The final event starts at 6 pm (10 km run). Further information is available online.

Race number pick-up and late registration
     
You can pick up your race materials on Thursday and Friday (May 19-20) between 10 am and 7:30 pm at Karstadt sports at Joachimsthaler Str. 10, 10623 Berlin, or on the day of the event starting at 1 pm on the boulevard, Strasse des 17. Juni.

You will need to bring along your Start Pass (either printed out or as a digital passbook), which you should have received by email by May 12-13 (if not, please check your spam folder), along with your photo ID (govt.-issued ID, drivers’ license, etc.). Please see the info provided online.

Please pick up your race number, if at all possible, on Thursday or Friday to avoid long lines on race day. Registration for the Bambini Run can be done at Karstadt sports on May 19-20 or on May 21 at a separate registration table in the start area (corner of Yitzhak-Rabin-Str.) and costs 3 Euros.

Race number pickup will open at 1 pm on race day and is located on the boulevard Strasse des 17. Juni between the finish gate and Ebertstrasse. You can also drop your chip off there. Please see the map on the website.

Girlfriend bonus: For every on-site registration that is made together with a registered participant, 5 € will be deducted from the fee.

The start and finish are located on the boulevard Strasse des 17. Juni. The event stretches from the Brandenburg Gate to the avenue Grosser Querallee. Before every start, warm-ups will be led by professional fitness trainers. The changing tents, massage and beauty area, valuables storage and Kinderland are all located on Yitzhak-Rabin-Strasse. The supporting programme

There will be lots going on on the women’s festival mile between Yitzhak-Rabin-Strasse and the Brandenburg Gate, including booths and entertainment, catering, and an SCC EVENTS stand with sporting gear and accessories. Free wellness and relaxing opportunities await you on Yitzhak-Rabin-Strasse (Beauty Lounge und Massage).

There is also a tent there where you can securely store your valuables for a small fee.The AVON gift bags will be handed out on Yitzhak-Rabin-Strasse (until 8 pm). Please be sure to bring along the coupon from your race number.
