The Reading Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 20th March, just two weeks on Sunday. This is the first event in the runbritain grand prix and it has attracted a top quality field of athletes intent on claiming some of the £55,000 of British only prize money.
It comprises of five events:
Reading Half Marathon – Sunday 20th March
Bristol 10k – Sunday 15 th May
BUPA London 10,000 – Monday 30th May
Admiral Swansea Bay 10k – Sunday 25th September
EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon – Sunday 23rd October
Points shall be awarded at each race for the leading 250 British (eligible to compete for Great Britain & Northern Ireland at the date of the race) finishers from the men’s and women’s separate individual results. 250 points shall be awarded for the first British finisher, down to 1 point for the 250th British finisher.
A runner’s best four individual points scores from the five races shall count towards the overall runbritain grand prix. Time bonus points will be awarded at each of the five races.
Both Phil Wicks and Liz Yelling have entered the Reading Half Marathon and, as they are currently top of the rankings at this distance, are favourite to win at Reading but they won't be given an easy ride as there are many more with their eye on the prize.
