MOWA Heritage Athletics Exhibition Budapest 2023 – 3D VIDEO PREVIEW – By Chris Turner
Dear friends of MOWA, – The Museum of World Athletics (MOWA) will commence its celebration of the 40th anniversary of the World Athletics Championships when the MOWA Heritage Athletics Exhibition Budapest 2023 opens to the public in the Etele Plaza shopping mall on Monday 3 April.
The exhibition will close on Sunday 27 August, the last day of World Athletics Championships Budapest 2023 (19 to 27 August).

OPENING CEREMONY
On the evening of Friday 14th April, an Official Opening Ceremony (by invitation only) will take place and will be followed by a cocktail.
In attendance will be five Hungarian outdoor World Athletics Championships medallists… Anita Márton (2018 Indoor Shot Put gold), Zsolt Németh (1999 WCH hammer throw silver, Bence Halász (2019 WCH hammer throw bronze), Krisztián Pars (2012 OG hammer throw champion), and Balázs Baji (2017 WCH 110mH bronze).
Joining the athletes to open the exhibition will be Jon Ridgeon, CEO of World Athletics, Ádám Schmidt, Government Commissioner, Chairman of the Governing Body of World Athletics Championships Budapest 23, Balázs Fürjes, Deputy Minister, Co-chair of the Governing Body of World Athletics Championships Budapest 23, and Miklós Gyulai, President of the Hungarian Athletics Association, Co-chair of the Governing Body of World Athletics Championships Budapest 23.

The MOWA Heritage Athletics Exhibition Budapest 2023 is the world’s largest ever display of athletics competition clothing, shoes, equipment, and trophies which has been donated by many of the greatest athletes in our sport’s history. The exhibition will be enriched by historic Hungarian athletics artefacts that have never been displayed before.
EXHIBITION VENUE
The venue for the exhibition is the 3rd floor of Etele Plaza (Hadak útja 1, 1119 Budapest), the Hungarian capital’s newest shopping mall
There is a direct tram (line 1) route from immediately outside Etele Plaza to the National Athletics Centre across the Danube, where the World Athletics Championships Budapest 2023 will be held. It is a 15 minute journey.
