J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge – Registration opens for 11th running of Corporate Challenge in Sydney
SYDNEY, August 1, 2011 — Registration has opened for the 2011 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Sydney, which will mark its11th running with the return of several popular features and new opportunities for participants to share their experiences.
The 5.6 kilometer team event for full-time workers is scheduled for 9 November at its traditional course in beautiful Centennial Park. Companies large and small can enter as few as four entrants or their entire workforce. Afterwards, a post-race party provides an ideal setting for out-of-the-office camaraderie.
Last year, the event attracted 6,950 participants from 290 companies. All the information and online forms needed to register a team are available online now.
This year's race again will feature chip timing. Introduced in Sydney last year, chip timing proved popular among participants because it allows for accurate timing for everyone and eases the post-race workload for company captains.
Also returning will be a colour-coded "pulse start," which facilitates a smooth start by segmenting runners and walkers by skill level and allows for more running room on the 5.6km race course.
And, being re-introduced is the creative T-Shirt contest, with the winners selected in on-line voting on the Sydney Facebook page.
In fact, the official Facebook page, www.facebook.com/SydneyCorporateChallenge, makes it easier than ever to share your experiences at the Corporate Challenge. Please consider adding us to your social network to spread the word about your company's participation, and ask your colleagues to do the same. You also have the opportunity to communicate directly with your team during the registration process via our new company home pages at www.jpmorgan.com/cc.
The entry fee remains the same as in 2010: $50 (plus GST 10%). The JPMorgan Chase Foundation will make a donation on behalf of the Corporate Challenge to Football United.
Awards will be given to the five fastest men's, women's and mixed teams. The first place teams in those categories will also receive an invitation to the 2012 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge Championship, date and location to be determined.
Hospitality is also available, allowing companies to have a priority, reserved location within Centennial Park in close proximity to the start and finish lines. This is an option for companies looking to have a camaraderie-filled post-party with colleagues and business partners.
