IAAF announces broadcasting agreements in Australia and Israel

By GRR 0
The IAAF has recently concluded TV deals concerning the territories of Australia and Israel.

In Australia, Dentsu, the IAAF Media Rights Agency for outside Europe and Africa, has concluded a TV free to air deal with SBS for the IAAF World Championships, Daegu 2011, with SBS offering very strong broadcast guarantees which means at least 35 hours of transmission in Australia. SBS is a public broadcaster with national reach.

With this deal Dentsu is now close to completing broadcast sales in its region for the IAAF World Championships 2011, Daegu 2011. The finalisation of further agreements in the remaining territories is anticipated in the near future.

In Israel, IEC, the IAAF Media Rights Agency for Europe and Africa, has concluded a TV deal with the public broadcaster IBA. Under the terms of the deal IBA, who have offered strong broadcasting guarantees, will transmit all IAAF World Athletic Series events, in the period 2011 – 2013, which includes the next two editions of the IAAF World Championships, Daegu 2011 and Moscow 2013. IBA was the incumbent broadcast partner of the IAAF until 2009 through the deal the IAAF had with the EBU.

With this deal coverage of the Middle East region is completed as it complements the previous contract that Dentsu concluded with Al Jazeera.
