BMW Berlin-Marathon 2017: Only 9 days until the race – RUNNING GERMANY
Only one more weekend lies between you and the marathon. For your training that means: relaxed training with sufficient time for regeneration between runs and foods you are used to.
Reduce Training and stay healthy – do not start if you are sick or injured. The final phase of training for the 2017 BMW BERLIN MARATHON is now underway – so-called tapering.
Now it is important to practice a healthy lifestyle (sufficient sleep, balanced diet) to arrive at the starting line on September 24 fresh and full of energy. By no means should you try to make up for any lost training now. The increased level of training you have just been through often leads to illness, injury and exhaustion.
Have the courage to take a break now, and take care of your injuries and health so as not to endanger your participation in the 2017 BMW BERLIN-MARATHON. Especially in cases of exhaustion, it is fine to take a two-day rest, as this regeneration will not endanger your form. You can only win. If you are currently sick or starting to feel sick, you should consider not participating in order to not risk your health.
If you are having medical issues, be sure to contact your sports physician in time. Regardless of your health status, it is always a good idea to undergo an annual preventative health check.
During the BERLIN VITAL Marathon Expo, ill or injured participants who are unsure of whether or not they should participate can visit the SMS Medical Institute of the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON for a free consultation.
Pick up your race kit in person at the BERLIN VITAL Marathon Expo
The Sport and Heath Expo BERLIN VITAL opens on Thursday, September 21 at STATION Berlin. All participants must pick up their race kits there between Thursday and Saturday. As experience shows, Saturday is usually very full (esp. between 10 am and 2 pm) and you can expect long lines, so if you can, please pick up your race kit on Thursday or Friday.
– Race numbers must be picked up by each individual runner; group pick-ups are not possible, and power of attorneys are not accepted either.
– The start pass is required, as well as a photo ID (personal ID, passport, driver’s licence) for pick-up.
Further important information for Saturday and Sunday is available in the Participant Info.
