Berlin’s Governing Mayor Klaus Wowereit Active for the World Championships

Berlin’s Governing Mayor, Klaus Wowereit, recently attended the German Indoor Championships in Leipzig. Here he promoted the 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics berlin 2009™ which will take place in his home city at the Olympic Stadium.

The Mayor paid his respects to the athletes and officials of the German Athletics Association (DLV), as well as to the spectators, and together with Peter Danckert, the chairman of the sports commission of the German Bundestag, and the president of the DLV, Dr. Clemens Prokop, he visited the promotional stand of the BOC 2009 GmbH, which is responsible for organising the World Championships in the German capital.

He happily took notice of the fact that the booth of the World Championships in Berlin was eagerly frequented by people interested in attending the event which will take place from 15 – 23 August 2009.
