Have you noted Sunday, October 16 in your calendar? That's when the Netherlands' largest marathon takes place. Thousands of runners will finish in the Olympic Stadium after running 42, 21 or 8 incredible kilometres in and around Amsterdam. Will you be there too? You still have two and a half months to prepare yourself in a good and healthy manner. A full marathon, and even a half-marathon, demands much of your physical stamina. It is therefore important to prepare your body for it. Whether you're an experienced runner or this is your debut, it doesn't matter. Give your fitness a boost! Runners from around the world are also entering in the summer months. We have already achieved our first record. We have never had entries from so many nationalities: at this moment 74. Once again it seems like the Amsterdam Marathon is on its way to a record number of participants. What is remarkable is the spectacular growth in the classic distance, the marathon. Last year, 10,000 individuals entered in this section. This year 11,500 participants are expected to be at the start.

Entry PWN Egmond Half Marathon is about to open |
Le Champion invites you to participate in the 40th PWN Egmond Half Marathon. The winter classic will take place on Sunday, January 8, 2012. Registration for the half marathon and the quarter marathon is possible from August 1 via www.pwnegmondhalvemarathon.nl. Egmond is one of those classic races that you should have run at least once in your life. The course is set along the North Sea beach and the dunes of PWN. The wintry character plays a major role every year. On Sunday, September 18, four weeks before the Amsterdam Marathon starts, the Dam to Dam Run will take place. Take part in the largest running event of the Netherlands as this is the ideal time to get ready for the Amsterdam Marathon. Entry for the 10 mile race is only possible via the Dam to Dam Run's charity project. It is still possible to enter in the normal manner for the 4 mile race (6.4 km) in Zaandam, the Run2Day Ladies Dam Run (4 miles) in Amsterdam and the Mini Dam to Dam Runs.
