All star Javelin at European Athletics Permit Meeting in Kassel (GER) – European Athletics (EAA) – News

The spears will be flying at European Athletics Permit Meeting in Kassel Germany tonight as Germany's greatest female Javelin throwers, Steffi Nerius, Christina Obergföll and Linda Stahl all make their season's debut.

World Hammer Champion Betty Heidler joins the impressive A-list throwers, to do battle with compatriot Kathrin Klaas and Cuba´s Olympic silver medallist Yipsi Mereno.

The women will have another exciting duel in the 100m Hurdles as Ireland's European Champion Derval O´Rourke makes her season's debut against Germany's current top Hurdler, Carolin Nytra.

Not to be out done, the men's field boasts the crème of men's Pole Vault, the German all-star trio of Tim Lobinger, Danny Ecker, Björn Otto, along with a number of others looking to book their place in Beijing

Thomas Blaschek (GER) will again try to run the qualification standard for the 110m Hurdles, with Marcel van der Westen and Gregory Sedok from the Netherlands also in the line-up this could well be possible.

The 400m should also be a race worth watching as Ingo Schutz, Bastian Swillims and Kamghe Gaba all run with everything they have in order to be allowed the honour of representing Germany at the European Cup in Annecy in two weeks time.
